Is this Jinma 254 2007 or 2011?

Good day all.

I was wondering if my Jinma 254 that I recently purchase is a 2007 or 2011? reason I'm asking is it was sold to me as a 2011 the cabin has a 2010/06 tag but on the Y385 engine has manufactured date of 2007 see picture

It's probably a 2011.

The EPA has been tightening up on diesel emissions for a while. In order to be imported into the US diesels now have to meet pretty tough standards.

For a while, engines built before the new rules went into effect were exempt. So a 2011 tractor with a 2007 engine only had to meet the 2007 standards. Apparently the Chinese had anticipated the rule change and had stockpiled an endless supply of older engines. Either that or they were backdating production, it's impossible to know for sure

. Eventually the EPA cracked down. I'm not even sure you can still buy a Jinma 254.

I just had a 2425 had 03 on fender,04 on loader and 05 on engine

Consider it an '11 model. The cab and engine come from different Chinese manufacturers, hence the different build dates. Jinma then mates the engine and cab to the otherwise bare tractor. Wouldn't surprise me if you found yet another date somewhere on the loader. And using 2007 engines also helps them skirt around EPA rules that would otherwise apply to a 2011 tractor
