Hi all

looking for advice on a possible purchase. It's a International 300 utility with a Shawnee loader. It has been sitting for at least 15 years. Rear rims may need to be replaced from rust, still enough air in them to keep them off the ground. Front tires are junk as are the loader hoses, gauges. left side steering arm ( looks like a pitman arm near the cockpit) is bent, the stop on that side is still attached but barely. right side loader arm has been welded/patched. The guy who has it said when he dragged it to where it is now everything turned free and the clutch disengaged. He's asking $650 for the package.

Is this combo worth the effort? I know its going take some time and money to get going, but don't want to invest too much.

I will be doing the work myself, with (hopefully) guidance and advice from generous knowledgeable individuals :) . It's going to be a working tractor, move snow haul trees and move gravel etc.

thanks in advance.

Assuming the rear tires are usable, I'd probably take a chance @ $650.

IIRC, the 300/350 utility has a history of problems with the steering. Other than that, I don't recall anything bad about them.

With a loader its not gonna be a good one to operate without power steering.

And does it have a 3ph conversion or does it have a 2-point fast hitch. It it ain't got a 3ph that will also make it less usable.

Just.depends on how much you want to put into it and what your plans are.(keep or flip).

New tires and rims can easily set you $1500, and new hydro hoses could be another $500. So you are into it $2650 and don't know if it even runs.

You could easily have $5k+ tied up into it and that's about.all its worth in cherry condition.

I believe it has power steering. Not sure about the rear tires. I will be keeping it at least until I clear the trees, but having let other things go I hope I've learned my lesson.
