IS THIS A SPIKE HARROW?
photos031.jpg

I call it A spike harrow.
Am I correct on that?
We bought our 2.33 acres from my parents in 1966.
In 1971 I had a dozer re-grade the entire 2.33 acres
The dozer operator found this on the upper left hand corner of the property buried in the weeds.
I had to level and smooth out the entire 2.33 acres after the dozing was completed and plant it in grass.
I used this old harrow to do that.
Pulled it with a chain hooked to my 5 year old at the time 1966 Bolens tractor.
I put the harrow in the car port after I finished dragging the whole 2.33 acres with it.
And there it still sets to this day never used since 1971 and never moved out of the carport.
Now that I have the new BX1500 with a free 3 point hitch available I'd like to rig it up so that I can pull the harrow with the draw-bar and lift it with the 3 point for transport.
Any ideas on how I would go about doing it ?

Yes, that is indeed a spike tooth harrow. I have a couple of sections sitting in the woods behind my house, but they're too far gone to be useable.

As for your tph, you can rig up what I've seen for chain harrows. Get a boom pole on your tph. Rig the harrow to pull from your drawbar and seperately, rig some chains to use the boom pole to lift the harrow when you want it up. That will be far easier than trying to rig an actual tph mount on the harrow.

Thanks RobS & JiminGa for replying .

37 years for it to just set in my car port doing nothing is a long time isn't it?

Heck...I know Government Employees that sat doing nothing for almost 30 years, does that count...

If anyone can help you with parts, etc. It would be these guys...:D
