Does this sound like a good price the pciture of the machine makes it look pretty good. Called dealer and he told me this was gone. But he had a little scaled down model no heat or ac with only 100 hours that I could have for about $22,000 or $23,000 )</font>
mlinnane,
If any used Toolcat would be available at more of a discount, I'd think it would be one of the very few units produced without HVAC (heating, ventilation & AC). But those also don't come with cab doors to keep out dust, falling debris, etc.! HVAC & cab enclosure doors combine in one option.
For safety and comfort, I'd look harder for a used or new unit with the HVAC/doors option. But you might have room for a bit more negotiation on that used unit without HVAC/doors if getting a used Toolcat at the absolute lowest possible cost is your goal! (That would seem to be a good price for a unit with only 100 hours, but check which series Toolcat it is, whether 44hp or 46hp or 56hp engine, was that 100 hours of rental/demo use or by single owner, etc.)
Also, be aware that there are some differences between A-series Toolcats produced in 2003 through mid-2004, B-series Toolcats produced from mid-2004 through Sept. 8, 2005, and C-series one manufactured after the first week of Sept. 2005. Several A-series components were upgraded to those found on B-series without charge by Bobcat, so you can get good values on used As. But the 56hp Turbo model only began with B-series, and the new C-series lift arm and curl mechanism are not designed to be retrofitted to earlier Toolcats.
