Only thing I can think of is tie something to the steering wheel or something that makes you visually remember. I do this when I plug the heater in. I drape the power cord through the fender handle so I have to unhook the cord before I can get on the tractor. I don't know what your brake lever looks like but if there was a hole or something at the end you could thread a cord though you could drape it over the steering wheel or something. As long as it wouldn't get caught on anything afterwards in normal operation.

Whenever you put the brake on attach a bungee cord from the brake pedal to the steering wheel. That way you have to remove the bungee before you can drive away and that should remind you to release the brake. I do the same as Tim with the power cord for my lower hose heater. Pass the cord through the steering wheel and I don't forget its plugged in and drive off without unplugging it.

I drove off once with the trickle battery charger hooked up. Now I place the charger under the pedal and the extension cord through the steering wheel.

I also noticed when I was clearing snow that the 6500 has a red P for parking brake that lights up on the dash. Don't know if your tractor does. It doesn't really stick out at you but it is another indicator. I think the bungee is a good idea or a cord. It has to be something that is in your way so you HAVE to remember about it :)

Brandi I have been thinking about this too. I have a couple on board chargers on some of my vehicles. My wifes parents run an ambulance service and I think they have break away connectors of some time on an auto retract coil. That would be nice to have for tractors and cars as well in case we forget :).

There's an idiot light on the dashboard of my Mahindra 5525 that's lit when the parking brake is on.

You need a different mindset. Consider your tractor seat to be the cockpit seat in an expensive aircraft and train yourself to do a pre-flight check before you put the tractor in gear. It will quickly become an automatic routine and you won't be chewing up your brakes anymore.
