Is there a long wait to get a new mini excavator?

The local dealer here keeps trying to sell me used mini-excavators since thats what I am looking for but the problem is he doesn't have them. He has new machines sold (E55's) but can't get the machine being traded into the lot for me to see because he says they are having trouble getting the new machines to finalize the deal.

The first machine coming in was a Komatsu PC-40 but by the time the deal finally went through he had forgot all about us and sold it to someone else. Now he has been pushing a Bobcat 331 extend-a-hoe towards us but again, we can't see it because the guy trading it is using it till the new machine is there and once again, the dealer is having trouble finding a machine to give him.

Its really frustrating dealing with this dealer, they tell us they have these machines but then they can't actually get them anytime soon and in the case of the first one they forgot about us and sold it to someone else. There are not many mini excavator dealers around here and I have been looking elsewhere but I haven't found exactly what I am looking for at the price range I am looking at.

So is Bobcat having trouble getting new excavators to the dealers or is this dealer just telling me a story to cover their poor management?

Only reference is the Kubota dealer, lots sitting on their lot both used and new.

I see machines on the lots in TX. I've seen a few new M series excavators and a few older machines. Skid inventory isn't too bad for an "off the shelf" machine. I was told 6 months to get an s770 back in July. They found an s750 in a month and shipped it from another dealer. I imagine mini' are about the same so maybe the used inventory is low if the new ones are ready to go out?

I've been looking but I don't like making a long trip to look at a used machine because it seems like 90% of the time the machine isn't as great as the seller describes it. A couple hours isn't bad but if I am going further then that it has to be a spectacular deal with low hours.
