Is the Kuhn pull behind Finish mower that much better than the DR??

Looking at a pull behind finish mower- the kuhns are almost twice the price of the Dr and Swisher- Mowing 8-10 acres of rolling hills- Is it worth the extra $$ for the Kuhn or would the Dr be fine
Also on the kuhn is it worth an extra $1200 to get the Pro60K top of the line model- I was offered the H60b for $2800 and the Pro60 for $4000

If your going to buy new find out how much a Kuhn flail shredder will cost in that size.

It depends on how well you want the mowing to look. You have to remember if the grass gets away from you
that you will have a lot of dead grass laying on the sod. Have you considered a used JD25A flail mower?

I'm not familiar with DR finish mowers specifically, but there are very few DR products that have impressed me with their quality or durability. They are great at marketing, and they do honor their money back guarantees. However, a good number of their products tend to be on the light-duty side. There are a few exceptions.

I live just a few miles away from one of their factory stores, so have seen a fair amount of their stuff.

kuhn or do you mean kunz? I have a kunz rough cutter and that thing is a tank, compare the weight of the units and the horsepower when i was looking at tow behind roughcutters all the others were lighter with way less hp. This thing is very simple yet uses heavy (cast) parts where needed.

Exactly. I don't think it used to be that way. Some of the early DR walk behind brush mowers seemed to last forever. Recently, they seem to be all about cloning someone else's designs and making them as cheaply as possible. Unfortunately, this is not always reflected in the selling price: their deep-discount sale prices or their occasional sales of "factory reconditioned" (i.e. customer returns under the 90 day money back guarantee, which they have cleaned the dirt off of) come closer to reflecting what might be a fair selling price for a new unit.

I'm thinking Swisher used to be higher quality as well, but I'm not as familiar with them.
