I've finally decided its time to purchase a tractor, and after a little bit of looking I think I'd like to go and see the Kioti. The DK45s is in the price range I can afford and I'm just wondering if it'll do what I need it to do.
I run a horse farm and I would be needing move round bales, do some snow blowing, bush hog some paddocks and run a post hole auger. Will the Dk45s be able to do this. I think its at the top level of what I can afford.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

INCANADA.

I have been looking at them too. As an example my friend has a horse facility with 40+ horse. He uses a New Holland 25 hp to do manure and snow removal. No cab - basic unit. It works, so a Kioti 45s with with cab and blower will be luxury. We have two horses now. My needs will be: manure removal, snow removal, hauling wood out of woods, fencing, general work on 12 acres.

My accessories will be post hole digger, back blade, landscape rake, snow blower, bush hog, box blade...

I have been looking and researching these units for 3+ years. They appear to be a very good tractor.

Price is good with the dollar exchange.

good luck...

Depending on what you mean by "handing round bales," I would say that the 45S would be a pretty good choice. You might be able to go just a little smaller, but I would not go down too much if you will be handling lots of bales and moving them much distance.

I can't speak on the "S" but I have the 45SE and I use it for our 5.5 acre horse farm. I use it for exactly the same things you mention with the exception of I don't blow snow, I move it with the loader and a seven ft. LP rear blade. I have not bought a spike yet for round bales but I can't really see why the KL401 loader would have any trouble moving them. My tenant current just rolls them of the truck and a I push them into the barn with the bucket. If we pick up more horses than I may get a spike and may fill the tires but that may not be necessary since I always have either the rear blade (600lbs+) or the mower (700lbs+) on the back.

But more the point of you question I currently run a 7ft. finishing mower, 6ft brush hog, and 7ft blade. Rear auger is on the way this spring. The 45 hardly knows the stuff is back there. About 2 months ago I rented a Gill/Woods aeretor that weight aprox. 500lbs. I but another 550 lbs of rock salt on it and the 45 handled it with no problems. Oh, this is all in mid-ranges. I have yet to do any work other than tow a pick up truck up a hill in low range, and that could have been done in mid-range.

I have a DK35 and it easily handles the chores you list. The only question I would have is the weight of the round bales you plan to move with the FEL. I have a 77" bucket on mine with a 1450 loader and I can fill the bucket with bank run gravel and lift it with no problem. I lift round bales with the 3pt hitch.

I intend to find out about round bails. I think one of guys at my shop moves them with the 45se but I believe he is moving two at a time with one on the 3pt. like you said. I wouldn't want one the front by itself that's for sure.

So true. You will need filled tires and weight on the back if you are going to be fooling with the big round bales. The smartest thing I did when I bought the 45 was to get a cab. You can be out in any kind of weather and stay comfortable. My tractor has about 300 hrs on it and so far has done well.

Round bales on the 45S.....No problem... it will even stack them or load and unload off of trailers.
I highely recommend weighting the back end down.

If your interested in a good deal check out my web page and look at my used equipment, I just got one in.
Unless you are looking new for the incentive financing.

The lift capacity of the KL451 is not much different from the KL401 so I'd imagine the only issue would be max lift height which is about 8 inches higher with the KL451 and how much ballast you'd need.
