I need to replace my fix-a-flat'ed front tires. Plan to repaint to get a good clean seal for the bead.

But which color, and is it the one that is the same as chevy engine orange.

Also would it be a good thing to use bead sealer along with the new paint. Or is that overkill and just gunking up the nice new paint?

Thanks a bunch

I would say Orange II, I don't think anything has been the original orange in about 20 years now.

Yes, it's the Orange II. I've found Chevy engine orange - at least what I ended up with - is close but not exact.

My tractor is on the faded side so I doubt it would matter much. Part of me wants to paint it but, there are other places to spend the time and money. I do think I am going to try hitting the black (now grey) plastic around the engine compartment with armor all to see if that blackens it up.

I've found Armor All doesn't stay on black plastic surfaces very long before it gets chalky and looks worse that before. There are some other products at the auto stores for that use, I think Black Magic is one, that seem to hold up a bit better. You might also try buffing the orange with polishing compound if it's faded and chalky. That might help although you may not be able to get it completely cleaned up. Best of luck. If you have the time, share some before and after pics with everyone. You might inspire some of the rest of us.

A rattle can of Rustoleum engine enamel in chevy orange is real close and costs near $7 per can around here. Kubota orange II at my dealer is $10.
I saw Kubota orange II on Amazon for about $5.50. If you need multiple cans it may cheaper even with shipping charges.

Mothers Back-To-Black works well for those faded black plastic parts.

I will try to get some better pics tomorrow. The paint in this pic looks brighter then it is.

Valspar Autumn Crush rattle can from Lowe's was a perfect match on my 2750 snowblower.
I believe I found that tip on this site, so I thought I should pass it on
