Kubota L3700SU
Hi All, Just bought a Kubota L3700SU FEL, BH76 Backhoe last month. This is my first post. This website was great when shopping.

I had a hydraulic fluid leak on one of my FEL hoses. Either it was not fully tightened when I got it or maybe pushed loose possibly with a branch??

So I tightened the connection and got the Kubota Super UDT trans/hydr. fluid and began to fill.

The small sight level does not appear to show any red fluid although it spilled over twice at the fill port??

I can't figure out why the sight window would not show fluid... Also, any problem with overfilling?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

You either have it overfilled or its still low. Its hard to see the oil on the sight glass. nose the tractor down hill and see if you can see the oil line. If not the nose it up hill to see if you can see the oil line. then either fill or drain from there. The fluid looks almost clear through the sight glass.

Did you say "red fluid"? I didn't think Kubota Super UDT was red.

The last I bought earlier this year wasn't - it was amber.

Are you putting it in the correct hole? Rear of the tractor? It should not be red... Golden color... Over filling isn't good, that's why they have a sight glass.

Thanks for your posts!! I had it overfilled and had to drain some. The fluid looked almost clear through the sight window. Is standard UDT red? I was pretty sure the fluid that leaked out was red, but the super is almost clear.. Thanks.

Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is often dyed red and used in place of hydraulic fluid, not too abnormal.
Overfilling a hydraulic tank is wasteful and messy but can become dangerous in some instances. You don't leave any room for the oil to expand or proper breather operation. Sometimes you'll have the cap shoot off like a rocket along with a huge volume of oil.
