I was recently told that Kubota has discontinued the L39 TLB.

Of course, this came from a Kubota salesman that wanted me to buy the L45.

He told me that there are still unsold L39's in the wharehouse, so they can still sell them. But, that when they are gone, they will not configure the L39 as a TLB.

He said that any you see on lots are at least 2-3 years old, even if they are new.

I don't know the answer to your questiong but for what it's worth, they are still listed on Kubotas website as a current model.

If you put more of the context of your question in the topic you might get a better response...

No offense, but posting such an ambiguous topic is poor forum practice...

I tried to edit the topic, but that option is not available.

I guess I can start the thread over ...

Yes, he said that there are still tractors in the warehouse (still available) but that they are built, existing, unsold models from two to three years ago. Thus, the online listing (I mentioned that to him). He said he could order one (he only has the L45 and M59 on his lot).

He pressed the idea that any L39 you buy is an "older" tractor while the L45 is a "new" tractor as they are still building them, as opposed to trying to liquidate existing stock.

We were hoping to look at the L39 and the L45 side-by-side, however, non of the dealers in our area (150 mile radius) have both models. His explanation for this was that the L39 is on the way out.

My temptation is to say that the L39 is on the way out since that is not what he has, and is paying interest on in the lot. I guess I would believe that the L39 was on the way out, and they were clearing inventory only if it were accompanied by a noticable discount from the normal price. Kubota has done that with other models that weren't selling well. He did mention the discount didn't he? :D

I posed the same question when I saw only the L45 and no L39 at the
huge Kubota exhibit at the World AG Expo. Dealers who post on TBN
said both were to be available as far as they knew.

Note that even the B21 is listed as a currently available model on the
Kubota website, despite being superceded by the B26 a couple years
ago.

It would seem that the "Kubota is going to discontinue" phrase is very popular among some Kubota salesmen as a way to enhance the sale of whatever else they want to sell you.
