I picked up some filters and fluids to service my BX with over the holiday. Did not look at my records because I knew it had been some time since I had last changed fluids and filters other than oil. It's been almost two years since I've changed the hydraulic fluid and filter but I've only put a 110 hours on the BX during the two years. Should I just store the fluid and filters to avoid waste or does time break down hrdraulic fluid?

I wouldn't change the hydro fluid yet. The fluid won't go bad just by sitting for a few yrs. It could collect up some moisture but I doubt it would be enough to damage anything.
Now if you notice any problems with your hydraulic system then changing the fluid & filter would be one of the 1st things to do. That is after all the easy checks and adjustments have been made and the problem doesn't go away.

I avg about 100 hrs a yr which is probably about normal.
I would recommend running it more often just to keep evrything lub'ed up and to get the fluid passed through the filter.

You don't need to do it, but it certainly won't hurt to change it out. I put new fluid and filters on more often than the recommended schedule, myself.

I would change the fluid and filters after 2 years. A machine that isn't used and left idle is worse than a machine that is used and the fluids are brought to temperature on a regular basis. I would think that there might be moisture in the fluids by now, and that changing them out will remove that moisture. I change oil twice a year..... Spring and Fall because I don't put enough hours on the machine to do it more often. If I were to go by the suggest hours, I might not change the oil for more than a year. Oil and filters are expensive, but an engine or hydro is more expensive.

Morning KPotts.
As stated hyd.fluid should be fine, but what does your manuel say?...fluid & filter cheap insurance, and once change it will give you a peaceful mine.

Exercise the hoses, valves etc..good thing...does your manuel offer long shortage hints.

My New Holland TN70A has a time and or hours requirement. Every 2 years I have to change my fluids independent of hours used.

This won't be very helpful, I suspect, but just change the fluid/filter.
The reason: You're asking the question.
You already think it might be a good idea.
You already own the supplies.
It HAS been a while. It's not like you're changing it two days in a row.

If you don't do the change, you'll be wondering if it was the right call. You'll wonder if the advice you got on TBN is correct in your situation (though it almost always is...). Maybe you forgot to tell us something that would sway opinions.
Anyway, if you do it, you can sleep at night.
Why add unnecessary stress to life?

I agree. The uncertainty would kill me.
