The actual air temperature here is minus 2 degrees, according to my phone. I was standing out in the barn beside my Deere as it warmed up, it started with no block heater, nothing except a battery tender. The hourmeter (it's a 2002 model) reads 1304.5....and it hit me than in all those years and hours, my tractor has NEVER failed in any way...it has always started, always been dead reliable, always done everything I have demanded of it...and has never disappointed me in any way. Repairs have cost me $50 (two MMM deck clevis welds had to be reinforced) over 1304.5 hours, everything else has been normal maintenance.

Call me weird if you so choose....but how can I NOT love my tractor?

Replying to the thread title....

"normal", on this site - probably.

"proper", probably not.

On the other paw, if you are married, at least your spouse knows where you are - there is probably some value in that.

My wife called mine 'the other woman' as I spent so much time on it when I first got it (had a repair to make that required a major tear down). And then gave it a first name as well. I don't know that I love her, but I might admit to some lust. :D

Relatively new guy here but I'll make an observation anyway. Forestcreature1, you have spoken wisely to be sure. There is certainly value in that last part or has been for me....back in another life..
I would have to admit to a certain affinity for my tractor and a couple of my scooters. Not a bad thing and God certainly knows that I have spent some hours with them over the years. I'm okay with all of that for me. For JDgreen227, if you do decide to get married or in some way legitimize this thing with your tractor, please don't invite me. Not sure I could process that info in my head...

You guys who ridicule me or simply cannot come with a proper response make me laugh and laugh...may I suggest you get out a dictionary and actually READ what the term "love" can actually mean?

One definition of love in my Webster's reads: "Something that elicts deep interest and enthusiasm...."

Are the rest of you simply so uniformed and ignorant that you only think of love in romantic terms...? DUUUHHH!!!
