Is Husky made by Poland

A Stihl dealer told me today that the smaller Husqvarna chainsaws are made by Poland. Does anyone here know about that?

Husqvarna is the parent company corporation division under Electrolux. They make Poulan, Husqvarna,Mcculloch, Dixon, Redmax, Peerless transmissions. I have heard but can't confirm that the small Husky saws are made at the Poulan chainsaw plant.

Electrolux owns several companies like he mentioned. Husqvarna, poulan, mac, jonsered, to name a few. Saying that Puolan makes husky saws is like saying Lincoln makes mercury, or saying cadillacs are made by pontiac:confused2:

The smaller saws in the husky line-up are just a homeowner grade saw w/plastic crankcase. Nothing special and NOT built to last. Same as the poulans.

If I had a stihl dealer say that to me, I would politely educate him and then walk out without doing business there. He is mis-informed and only trying to make a sale, and that is a big turn off for me. There are saws in the stihl line-up that are homeowner grade as well. With plastics cases and not made to last. Built no better than a poulan, they just charge a lot more.

If you are going to an actual husqvarna dealer, rest assured that you will be getting a good product. Just stay away from the box-store huskys if you want a good saw.

What the guys above said is absolutely correct. Id also avoid a Stihl dealer that talked like that.

If you want a Husky, look for "made in Sweden" on the tag and a metal case. Id also avoid the Big Box price point models

In 2006 Electrolux spun off Husqvarna. They are two separate entities with stock holdings being able to be purchased separately. Electrolux is the Swedish maker for indoor products and Husqvarna is the Swedish maker for outdoor products.

Have had long years of heavy use from my Huskqvarna "Made in Sweden" medium size chainsaw. I would buy a replacement any day but not one made elsewhere
After reading reports from unhappy buyers , I would also not buy one of their "made elsewhere"ride on mowers.

Husqvarna is its own separate company with its own leadership. Electrolux once owned Husqvarna. It was once like GM is the parent company of Saturn but no more.
Fiat is the majority holder of C-NH. Not so with Electrolux-Husqvarna so your analogy does not fit. The major shareholder of Husky is Husqvarna AB. People need to start thinking of Husqvarna as its own company as they once used to be. As far as holdings, once the split occured, Electrolux shareholders were given equal amounts of Husky shares to the ratio of 1 Husky share equal to 1 Electrolux share. If they were still the same company, that would not need to have been done.
