Is drought dropping tractor prices in your area?

In the two places I frequent, northeast Mississippi and Northern Virginia we've been only slightly impacted by the drought.

But reading on the net it seems a lot of small farms in the Ks, Mo, Ar, Ok region are being heavily impacted and some are folding.

Since I'm in the market for a 40 to 50 hp tractor I was wondering if there are any bargains to be found.

I'd think the vast majority of buyers for that size tractor aren't materially affected by drought conditions.

Our Kubota dealer is sold out of crated units on the back lot and just expanded it significantly. With winter coming on sales will decline, but as RickB points out, these are not associated with agricultural production.

Kubotas "NEW" financing program is 60 months 0$ Down 0% Int (less rebates for cash so we won't have to beat the no such thing as 0% interest horse to death again) with first payment not due until April 1st 2013. This incentive may make some waiters jump now to beat further price increases that always come. Also tax refunds will be back by the time the first payment is due.
Also Kubota isn't as dependant into the "Farm" machines as some of the other tractor companies.

Had about a dozen sitting on his lot.

These theorys run through TBN every fall and winter that now that no one is buying and they are building up on lots and no one is going to buy in the winter and overhead keeps building up and dealers will do deep discounts and maybe give them away. Hasn't happened yet but maybe will this year
Kubota Co owns almost all of the new tractors on a dealers lot, almost all. Not like car dealers. Kubota offers incentives to move machines and don't advertise them, they tell the dealers. Get prices from dealers and ask about incentives from Kubota. If they stare at you like deer caught in the headlights then they are keeping the incentives or increasing their profit to gain the incentives for themselves.

I don't know what program was in effect when I bought mine a couple of months ago, but the incentives saved me quite a bit and they sold a lot of tractors including one just like mine for commercial mowing.

It is a good time to buy as prices will surely go up.

i dont pay attention to what incentives kubota offers.as i price tractors when the need arises.priced 2 new kubotas 3wks ago.1 was a 105 cab 4x4 fel with hydro tranny for $55,000 the other was a 108 cab 4x4 fel hydro tranny for $63,000 new.buddy ended up getting a 2008 105 cab 4x4 no loader hydro tranny with a bad hydrolic pump with 1600hrs for $22,500.
