LB1914
Hi,

I have a LB1914 and am looking to buy a rear blade to help with snow removal and some light grading of gravel. It seems that a 5' blade that is on an angle would not be wide eneogh, so I am wondering if a 6' blade is too large.

Thanks

I have sold several 72" blades to LB owners, that tractor will handle it with ease.

I bought a used 7 ft back blade primarily for snow, my CK20 handles it easily in hi range. Unless its real heavy wet snow ,even with fluid in tires the blade on an angle will push tractor sideways if I get too much snow in front of blade, Then you can do either of these , take only half a blade width ,or lift blade and leave 6-8in and come back for second pass. So a 6 or 7 ft will work depending on conditions.

If the tractor bogs down I just shift into low range, I run out of traction before I run out of power.

Hope that helps.

It works great with Kioti's for what you are saying.
We normally tell people it works great for gravel spreading and snow removal.
Especially in this part of Ohio........if only it could move water as easily.

This should not be tried with lighter tractors.

I also have a 72" rear blade for my LB1914 and in addition to what was already mentioned, the LB1914 does a good job of gading dirt with it as well. The blade I have only weighs about 250 pounds so when grading hard packed dirt I sometimes add 150 pounds of excercise weights right above the blade and the tractor has no problem with it. Don't hessitate to get a 6 foot blade.:D

you are correct ... the 5' is not wide enough when it is at full angle... i have a 5' blade and thought about a 7 footer for snow, but i found a used puma blower instead.... can't wait to use it this winter instead of the blade....
go with 6' for sure but give the 7' some consideration as well....
