I just bought a 7510 with a bushhog loader, lift cap 1200lb. I'm having a little buyers remorse on wether I should call my dealer up and tell him that I want a 7610 instead. My only hang up is that he told me that the 7510 was a little under powered to run a 5ft bush hog. If I would by a bush hog I'd definately want a 5 ft. so. Do you think the money is worth the HP? I got the hydrostatic drive one. thanks 2K is the difference I woud hace to pay to go from 21hp to 24hp

Personally I could not even imagine running a 5' rotary cutter on a 21hp tractor unless you are only cutting grass. I think you run a risk of bogging down your engine on too regular of a basis with that size cutter on that tractor. Generally a rotary cutter should have more PTO hp than a finish mower and if you live in a lush grass region of the country then you are underpowered for a 5' finish mower. If you can swing the extra money, I would step up to at least a 24hp tractor, but 30hp would be a really ideal tractor to run a 5' bush hog if you are cutting brush and saplings. I suspect you got a pretty light duty bush hog on order?

EDIT: OK I'm a little confused (nothing new with that I often am confused) after re-reading your post. You got a bush hog loader . . . did you also get a bush hog rotary cutter? Is it a 5' bucket on the bush hog loader you are referring to or a 5' bush hog rotary cutter you are referring to?

I have a B7610 with a 4 foot Woods Cutter and it is almost too much if I am in the heavy stuff. I would not feel too safe running a 5 footer on my tractor unless I am just going to be cutting grass. And then.... I don't think that it is the power as much as the extra foot behind the tractor. The four footer is pretty heavy.

just to clerify, my bad. My buddie had a 5ft bush hog brand bush hog. I would prehaps borrow it from time to time-vs- buying one. when bush hogging, I would be cleaning trails and running over upto 3in trees and brush. I was just wondering if it were worth spening the exter 2k to upsize to a 7610 or just get the 7510 and perhaps get a 4ft bush hog. I can get a used 4ft bush hog for about 300 I'me sure, just not sure how effective it would be.

I had a B2410 HST and used a 4' WOODS brush cutter which was an excellent match for its power. Previously I used a 5' JD light duty rotary cutter with this tractor. I could still cut with the 5 foot cutter but it felt bulky and I felt it caused the tractor to oscillate or vibrate somewhat. These rotary cuuters are designed for cuuting 1" saplings or less and I think you will cause damage to your tractor or cutter by attempting to cut 3" saplings. This would be work for a heavy duty cutter and higher HP tractor.

depends on how dear the extra $2k is for you. But i would go with the larger machine . But is easy to spend somone elses $$$$ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. just for info i have a B2400 and run a 5' rfm with no problem , but if i wanted a rotary cutter , i would drop down to 4'

that is strange. I used to have a Fergusion T030, 50 year old gas powered tractor rated at 28hp new. I use to clear out wood and everything running over 3 inch stuff all day long without any problems. I assumed that a new diesel with 21hp would be similar in power. perhaps I was wrong.

Whoa! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Did you say lift capacity right?

That seems way out of line with what Kubota would recommend for a tractor the size of the B7510.

For comparison purposes, my B2910 loader had a 402 KG lift capacity, which is something like 960 lbs or a bit more.

1,200 lbs on a smaller tractor (which may be about double what Kubota puts on that tractor) may in real life be a major accident waiting to happen!

Not to mention warranty issues if you damage the front end, and so on...

Is 1,200 lbs llift capacity what you actually will have?

I don't think I would want that much on a B7510 myself...

I'm sure. it's ever wider than the tractor. The dealer told me he sells them all the time,, even loads the rear tires down with anti/water mix. It's a bush hog brand FEL. say a BH-146 on my paperwork.

Ok...I feel better now. The lift capacity of that loader is 825 lbs...that is certainly more in line with the standard Kubota loader and with the B7510 frame size...

Guess I'll sleep easier tonight...
