IH B276
Hello from Greece,
I currently own a 1970 year model IH B276 manufactured in Doncaster, England.
I would like to find out if it will be possible to buy and operate a 1,55m long and 350Kg mower like the one pictured.
Supplier states that it will have no issues.
Can you please let me know if this is feasible without stressing out the engine?
Thanks

Does the mower have sales literature that says what PTO HP is needed?

A 276 should handle it ok, but how fast you can go will be determined by how heavy/tall the grass is.

2.4l diesel, 37.5hp. 1875rpm, big bore slow speed diesel engine. 5hp per foot, 1550mm equals about 5ft mower. 5hp per foot, 25hp for mower, 2hp for gear boxes. 37.5 - 27 leaves 10hp to run tractor. yea, I'd say it will do it, including hills, thick grass, etc. See if the seller will let you try it out to see if it will work for you.

That flail will not be a problem behind your tractor. I run a similar width ditch bank flail on my 32 pto hp tractor.

You are welcome. my IH3444 has the BD154 2.5L diesel engine. 43.5hp, 22.6 to 1 compression ratio and it is a powerful engine that will pull strong down to the last pop. I don't think you will have any problem pulling that flair mower at all. Run good clean fuel, and dose her well with a good fuel additive with cetane booster and you will be fine. I use power service, not the best, but adequate.
