Go to google and type in, "tractor" for your search and see what comes up. One brand is at the top of list. One would think that the other manufacturers would also be there, but /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Google is an advertising medium, not an encyclopedia.
That's why you are getting more and more useless results from it: some companies pay for being closer to the top of the list ....
For example, you make a search for a particular term (say a town name and map ) on the first page a bunch of hits will be for companies which have nothing to do with the town, maps, or anything else.
I think it definately has to do with Kubota paying to be the first in the list. If it was just because of the word tractor, Kioti would be there, too. i.e. www.kiotitractor.com
Btw, your little avatar pic is puzzling. What is it supposed to be? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Go to MSN's search page and Kubota is one of the last ones listed. In fact John Deere was the first one listed other than the Antique tractor pages, New Holland was listed then Agco, White, Case IH. In fact Kubota was one of the last ones listed.
So personally I don't think it has anything to do with one being more popular than the other.

Actually lots of people like my self that pay Google for high search engine rankings see their ads listed to the right under sponsored links.

The avatar is of, "The Cheat !" He's a character on the homestarrunner website -> which is most famous for the Strongbad emails.
To my understanding, google ranks it's pages by how many other webpages are linked to a web page. If you pay google money for advertising, that just gets an ad that shows up on the right hand side of a search.
