I installed the newly released Internet Explorer 8 over the weekend and now find that when I visit either the Kubota or Kioti web site and attempt to view the various tractors available I receive the following alert message from Microsoft.

Stop Running this script?

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.

Yes No

No problem with the John Deere web page. Has/Does Kubota and Kioti have something running in the back ground to monitor what vistors view?

I've been using IE8 for some time. I sometimes run across web sites that aren't compatible with IE8, but this can be overcome by clicking on the compatibility icon. I haven't had a problem on the Kubota web site.

Another recommendation for Firefox. Install NoScript with AbBlock Plus, and adds and another annoying things are history.

And to think that I havn't even gone to 7 to stay away from it's problems. I see I've got plenty to look forward too! ;)

I'm using IE7 with Windows Vista Home Premium and generally like it. However, it will periodically "hang up"?; i.e., quit responding. Sometimes, if I wait long enough I'll get a dialogue box saying the program has quit responding and giving me the option of closing it or restarting it. Other times, I just restart the computer to get out of it.

What are the claimed advantages of IE8? And I assume you have to buy it; i.e., not just an update to IE7?

I had the same problem with IE7 until I disabled all the plug-ins and only added back the ones I really needed like Java, Adobe, Sun and one or two others.

Thanks, froggy. I'll see what I can do about that. Of course, being something of a computer dummy, I don't even know what all plug-ins I'm running.

Go to tools in IE, click on internet options, go to programs and you will see "manage add-ons". Just click on it to see what is enabled.

I completely done away with IE and use only Firefox. In my opinion Firefox is easier to use, a lot more stable, and by far safer. I haven't had any problems with it at all.
