Was there any explanation of what it was for or multiple photos so one can guess the use?

What is it being used for? They have changed to hydraulic/pto drive(what is the good of that).

Nifty little seeder rig. You'd have to grow a LOT of greens to justify it...

........$18,653.........there's some serious seeding going on.......:confused2:

Hi TimberXX :)

Thank you for sharing this very interesting picture with all of us!

This is by far the most advanced use of a 2-wheel tractor that I have ever seen - and a very expensive one too! One needs to do a lot of seeding to justify this implement, and I would not like to be the one who have to tell my wife, that I just ordered one for my BCS ;)

The seeder is produced in northern Italy by the company "Agricola Italiana", and here is a link to their seeder model M-815-SN:

Modulari Ortaggi - Agricola.it

This German link also describes the seeder:

Google-Ergebnis f? http://www.gemuesetechnik.de/uploads/pics/815-SN_16.png

The seeder is described as a "pneumatic precision seed drill for vegetables", and it is especially designed for use in greenhouses. The seeder seems to have a front-mounted compressor feeding the pneumatic system, and axel-extensions mechanically connected to the large center roller. This way the normal gearbox is used for propulsion.

The axel-extensions are more easily seen on this picture:

Whether the PTO is used or not, or if the PTO-flange is used to support the seeder or not, is difficult to see.

Best regards

Jens

That's a lot of good info. That company puts a lot of faith in the BCS drivetrain, under what seems to be a extreme load.
