So I purchased a CK35 this week and got a "First Choice" 66" tiller when I bought the tractor. Yesterday evening, I unload the tiller from the trailer, hook it up to the CK and proceed to till a spot for our garden. I get about 10' and tiller stops dead and stalls the tractor. I thought i had hit a big rock, or stump or something, but upon inspection I see that the tiller shaft only had 1 bolt (out of about 8) on the righthand side and had spun 180* jamming against the chassis.

Called the dealer this morning, he said he could bring me a new one or I could haul it over and swap it, no big deal. He said that was the first time he'd ever seen that, and he's been selling that brand for a long time. They apparently are shipped to him fully assembled, someone at the factory must have been asleep that day.

I was a little disappointed that the slip clutch didn't work properly, I'll be adjusting the new one before I use it tomorrow.

The slip clutch needs to be adjusted before the first use and also after setting outside for any long period of time. They are usually too tight at first or can be rusted from outside exposure.
