eBay/Craigslist Interesting Ebay experience

Bid on those slope mowers this week. The guy selling them sounded a bit shifty but what do I know. Today I got a note from Ebay and then from him saying he had decided to sell them to someone in NewYork. That person paid 18500. I believe the guy was desperate for the money, so he could not wait for the bidding to play out. Wish I had known that is what he was thinking...

Anyway. Tractor 1 was in good shape and going to Tazwell for a makeover before being delivered. Had 200hrs on it. #2 had a new engine, and 170 on the chasis, but the wiring had been fried 3 years ago and was left to sit in the rain and parts pulled from it.

Well, that 1445 is still avail I think, if not, I will place my order for a 1430......

Well, I've put all my Simplicity stuff up for sale on E-bay which was a hard decision to make, so if anybody knows someone who wants a nice SCUT setup (tractor, MMM, loader, Curtis snow plow, 48" tiller, turbo/vac, quick hitch, and weight box) let 'em know. It's a package deal. Low hour, 27 hp diesel 4x4, everything in near new shape and perfect working order. Anyone interested should be able to search for it under: "simplicity legacy xl". I need to sell this equipment before I can "convert" to PT.

Seriously, you guys have been great in answering all my (sometimes stupid) questions. Hope I haven't been too much of a pest. I keep seeing a 425 sitting in my drive and drooling!

That would be me. I purchased the tractors on Sunday, January 7th before he had any bids. I believe he kept the auction going so people would look at his other items for sale but maybe he was waiting until he received the payment. Not sure. I am anxious to see what Terry has to say when he sees them. Now, I have to get a trailer and make a couple of trips to Virginia. I am looking forward to seeing all of the models and implements as well as the factory and people. Hopefully, they will go over the maintenance and safety items while I am there. It looks like I might get a trailer built to haul everything in. Once I know the weight of the trailer and the implements I have to haul back from Tazwell, I will be able to see if I have any extra hauling capacity. If I do, I will let people know in case anyone out my way wants some extra implements. Maybe soon, there will be an 1850 out this way that people can try if they need to.

I am sure I will be posting asking advice on implements to get, etc. I also have a list of questions for Terry. The list would be huge if it was not for all of the helpful posts fom people on this forum. I let Tazwell know that I would not have been looking into Power Tracs if it were not for this list.

Congrats on the purchase Ken! I think you got a heck of a deal....

Randy really p.o's me on this deal. I feel he led me on that he was using ebay, and bidding should proceed in that fashion. If I had any idea he had allready sold it (he had mentioned your offer but not that he took it) I would have moved on. I missed out on another deal because I was waiting around on this. I reported him to ebay (I have a long list of emails and phone calls that he was not selling it to you but through ebay). Most they can do is kick him out...

Personally, I would tripple check with Terry. I have no faith in Randy as his word has been marginal to me.

But, if Terry signs off on it, you will have on heck of a machine. Very jealous ;-)

Keep us posted on how things go -- and what you plan to do with that worthless, stripped, unusable parts machine.that someone might be willing to take off your hands to save you a trip to the landfill.
