Inter-Changeable parts between Common ATVs

I have an Arctic Cat ATV that needs a new brake caliper and was wondering how common are these parts between major mfrs? I would think a 6" or 8" disc would use similar parts regardless of the brand, may even all get made at same factory, just re-badged for each ATV Mfr.

Probably not much will interchange. Engineers love to change things. I found different parts on the same year same engine vehicles.
They may use a common manufacturer but put their own specs on the part.

About all that I see that might work across brands is Chinese, except for the rare equivalents like the Arctic Cat DVX
sporty quads and their Kymco analogs. DVX300 = Kymco Mongoose 300. A few others, like the DVX400 and the
Kawasaki an Suzuki clones.

As for AC, the utility quads are a pain with parts in that there were often numerous changes in just a year or 2 on
the same models. Esp brakes.

What model and year do you have? I currently am restoring an 04 AC 300 4x4. Recently finished an 04 AC 400 4x4.

I have a 2006 Cat 400 (Auto FIS). There are OEM parts available, just that we no longer have any Cat dealers within 100 KMs.

I see a dealer in Rigaud, maybe 25mi from you, but I have never been to an AC dealer myself. If you order a part,
you may have to go twice if you insist on that way of buying. Once to order, once to pick up.

Use the internet... there are tons of used and new parts available for ACs, and some really big junkyards
in the US.

Some AC brakes used plastic brake wheel cylinders, and some used aluminum. I prefer the latter,
but salty roads may ruin them.

I had a AC once. Loved it! Had a brake problem I could not seem to fix. What could be wrong? Master cylinder, brake lines, or caliper. I could not figure it out so I took it to the shop. They gave up. I took it to a second shop. They gave up. I guess it was jinked. Still love it except for the rear brake.
