All of a sudden the Display Mode and Travel Speed buttons aren't working on my L45. Anyone have any suggestions for diagnostics? I see 3 wires in the connector to the switch. Are they just simple momentary switches grounding?

No idea about those wires. I'm afraid none of what I can offer is going to be very helpful specifically for the L45 or the problem you describe, but it is simple and at least it's will be a place to start...

For the M59, the intellipanel diagnostic/service functions available are covered with in pretty good detail in the Service Manual - although though the index for the electrical system chapter doesn't really call the functions out or present them in an easy form. I had to read through the electronic chapter and take notes. I don't know about the L45; maybe it is better. Do you have that shop manual?

Also, a decade ago (2013) there was a TBN thread about accessing the intellipanel internal service functions that I remembered reading - and after a short search using the TBN search function found it.
The info isn't specifically for the L45 either, but it did reveal more on how the Intellipanel works.

Apparently the Intellipanel is capable of displaying more than just operator info. It might even be able to do some system diagnosis.

If the panel is working but the buttons aren't I'd suspect the switches or harness for the switches. The intellipanel has several harnesses plugged into the back. Check all the harness connections between the switches and intellipanel.

Hard to tell if the panel is "working". Tach works, everything seems to work, just can't switch the display mode.

I DO have the service manual somewhere. Maybe there are diagnostic tests. Good idea!

Following back up on this...

I had an issue 2 weeks ago where I caught a wire from my backhoe thumb while driving through the woods...realized my 3rd function didn't work as well. Found a 5A fuse blown in the fuse panel and fixed the thumb wiring. Guess what? The Intellipanel works again!
