Hello and thanks for all the help. Well, I have another question. I don't plan to ride over the roads with my tractor, but does anyone know about the need / practicality of insurance for a tractor? Does "Homeowners Ins" cover it? I guess I was worried about damage and theft.

Thanks, Frank /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I think if you enter the word "insurance" in the search field, you'll find more than you want to read on this topic. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Bottom line is that you need to check with your insurance agent; some homeowner's policies cover the tractor, some do not, and some only cover it on your property, some cover for theft, fire, etc, but not collision or rollover. So some of us have tractors covered by homeowner's policies and some have separate policies.

I just went through this myself as I just bought a BX1800 and am awaiting arrival. Essentially I have Allstate Homeowners and as Bird said it covers all of the perils of my policy on my home (theft, fire, vandalism etc.) but does not cover collision and upset. So for me I had to get another policy as Kubota Finace requires these and because I will be trailering my unit between two properties, I also wanted to have something that would cover it if an accident happened.

So to make a long story short, I called all over and found a couple of companies that offer it. State Farm and Erie & Niagra. I went with Erie & Niagra as State Farm would only insure if I already had policies with them. E&N may have been the same, but I had another policy so I didn't ask. Anyhow, the cost for me was $75.00/yr for an Agriculture Inland Marine policy. I know I can sleep better knowing I am covered for all portions now.

Good luck and hope this helps.

I think Bird had the right idea. Ask your insurance company. FYI I have State Farm and my home owners covers mine, BUT, only if it is on my property. Good Luck

I just ordered a L3430 and my insurance agent from Erie said I will need a separate policy. He hasn't gotten back to me with a quote but I'm sure it is worth it. Kubota finance requires it and I wanted to take advantage of the 0% financing.

Hello All,

Thanks for the info. I called my agent and she said as long as I am not going on the road with it I am covered under my homeowners insurance policy up to the replacement value of my home. I feel better now.

Thanks Again,

IF kubota is carrying the paper on the tractor, they have a great policy they sell..it ends the day you pay off the tractor..but until then it covers everything, roll over, fire etc etc etc....anything you can thing of is covered

Do you know what kubota charges for this policy? Sounds pretty good.

Thanks, Frank /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kubota wanted $595 for the policy on my BX1800 w/FEL, Grass Catcher, 60MMM. That was for the 5 year finance option. That is why I went ahead and got another insurance as it is only costing me $75/yr and I can continue once it is paid off.
