There was a post a while back that someone was looking to install position control on there B series tractor. and I did not hear anything more about this and would like to know if anyone found any more info about it.

I’m not yet convinced it makes any difference. I assume your 54” suspended deck is similar with the three point pin-lever height adjustment setup as my RCK60B-75B. Today I thought I would take the height adjuster pin out completely and control the deck height with position control. I don’t see where it does what it’s supposed to.....it doesn’t move the lift arms at all until it gets to around 6 on the scale. This is what I experienced with others I tried while shopping, it doesn’t seem to work all that much different than the simple up/down valve. I set the mowing height extremely low and tightened the sliding stop on the three point scale, it was sitting at 6.5 at scalp the lawn height. When I raised the deck all the way up to position 8 then lowered it back to the 6.5 stop...it was nowhere near where it had been, it was way higher. My understanding of position control would be when I moved it back to my stop it should have gone back to where it was in scalp mode. Appears most of the movement in the position control is between numbers 6-8 just like any other controller I’ve used. It does control more going down (just not consistently) but you have to get past 6 before it moves going up.

Could be there is an adjustment somewhere to get the three point to move in the 1-6 range, haven’t gotten that far, but if there is no adjustment then to me the way it’s working is no better than what you have. I’m HOPING there is an adjustment because if it would work as others say it’s supposed to it would be great. Will have to search this board to see if this has been discussed.

Did find a couple good threads here thanks to previous link by Ronjhall. Toyed with it a bit more today after reading these threads. Mine works exactly as Birds description. Starts moving up when you hit 4 on the scale and continues down until about 2. I did adjust it some but found you cannot adjust it up too much or the deck is pressed too much up against the frame.

I did however conclude the position control does indeed go back to the original position. My range for mowing however would be in the 6-6.5 scale, not exactly what I had figured on but it does work once you’re aware of it. I’ve not used any taller implements yet such as a box blade or middle buster and can see where it will indeed work better on taller implements. I assume they did the linkage ratios the way it is so you’re not dragging the three point lower links on the ground at mowing height. Bottom line is yes it works, just not exactly as one would figure, sure it works fine once you’re used to it.
