Installing double remotes

I just received the kits from Wallace to install double remotes on my CK30hst. Now I know why Dodgeram joked about 1000 parts. The instructions aren't the greatest but I hope it will be easier when assembling it piece at a time.

Dodgeram; Any bits of advice being you went through installing the single?

Lay it all out on the bench, drink a couple of beers, call Rick with stupid questions (he doesn't make them sound as dumb as they really are), put it together and go.
Minus the beer and calls to Rick and Amy, about an hour.

I'm sure Dodgeram will mention this but just in case.... The instrutions would have you remove the right rear wheel and fender. My dealer told me and it has benn mentioned here that removal of the seat will be a lot easier and will give you access to the valve. I have had my seat off and can easily reach all parts of the valve that you would need. I did this when I lengthened the control handles for the remotes because I found them to be had to control well when as short as the factory makes them.

Remove the seven seat screws (be careful, the seat is heavy).
If you have the knurled hex screws on the existing valve, I found it was easier to run to the hardware store and get a 8mm Hex wrench. worked like a charm.
Per Rick's direction, I started the hoses (metal tubes) on the valve first, and then installed the rear bracket with the hoses assembled.

Thanks for the tips. I remember about removing the seat from earlier posts and did that when I originally installed the hose kit. I also have the second valve to install. It's hard to figure out when you have two boxes of parts and you try to understand where all the little parts go. I think I'll try blowing up the assembly diagram which may make things clearer. And as Tom suggested, have a few on ice for when you get stuck and need to think. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unfortunately, I was up to my Kioti in unloading roof panels from 2 40 foot containers. That task finished, we haven't had enough dry weather to tackle the remote installation. I just hate lying of the ground when the water is running under me - more than 10 inches rain since last Thursday /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I do have he cold ones ready though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope those pics can be posted. Hopefully, I'll get a couple myself.

I enlarged the diagrams and read everything over again. It doesn't look as bad once you take a second look. I sure it will be easier as the parts go on and you see how the whole mess works.
If you are installing both remotes, remember the caution the instructions advise. The second valve slides on the studs first and the first goes on second. This may sound dumb but after you read the instructions, it becomes clearer. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
