Hello, my name is Mike and I have a 1986 Massey Ferguson 1010 2wheel tractor. I recently had an issue with bare wires shorting out and burning up the voltage regulator and connecting wires. Upon searching the subject I came upon post from SnowHillMan regarding him replacing the voltage regulator on his MF 1010. As a result, I ordered a replacement regulator and just received it after learning the whereabouts of same in that article. Now, my problem is wiring this voltage regulator. In that article SnowHillMan included a wiring diagram which I have studied closely. It is clear which wires go to which of the five terminals on the new regulator but it also shows a sixth wire, black, which appears to connect to the regulator. This has me stumped. I sent a private message to SnowHillMan but haven稚 received a response. Can anyone explain how to configure the wires. Thanks in advance.
