Got the bro-tek skid plate and extension from brotek. High quality craftsmanship- well designed and relatively easy to install. It was great dealing with Richard- nice guy who responded quickly to all e-mails. Only problem was that the hardware was not included with the extension (a slight oversight). That was easily rectified by a trip to Ace Hardware.
Got my grill guard from Kubota- once again very easily installed (done before the end of half-time of the football game (including tractor warm-up, gathering necessary tools and putting things away).
The 'bota (Terrence, after Terrence the Tractor in Thomas the Tank Engine- son was four when I purchased the bx) is armored and ready to go. Figure I can run through some barbed wire fences and go over a couple small land mines and make it.
The skidplate would have come in handy when I performed my unintended 125 hour maintenance by dropping the tractor on a jack stand, puncturing and bending the transmission filter, and draining the transmission. Had been thinking of getting the skidplate before the incident and this momentary brainfart cinched it for me.
