Installed the rear remote kit today, (CK30), with no problems. Did not remove the fender or the tire as the directions suggest. It took me about 1 1/2 - 2 hours total and everything lined up great. Rick was right, it isn't that bad. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I guess I should have mentioned that I removed the seat assembly only, (as per Rick). Ratchet wrenches were handy for this job.

One thing I would like to add...
If you already have the "old style backhoe valve" on you must also get the cover from your dealer or I do have lots of them around.
I was working with Dogerman today and we found out the hard way /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I will have to send him one right away.

So just a heads up make sure you have the old cover or at least pick one up from your dealer.

When I did the rewrite of those instructions to install the kit, I wondered about the necessity of removing the fender, but my job was simply to put into readable terms, not modify it.

Maybe some day I'll get the chance to discuss a rewrite of those instructions and eliminate removing the fender.

Rick, I still have my cover from when I installed the "hose kit" myself. That is something good to know for everyone installing the remotes themselves if they already have the hose kit via dealer. I thought the remotes connected to the same place but it doesn't sound like it. I guess I'll find out when you send the remote kits and luckily have some good instructions rewritten by KiotiJohn.
Hodak, thanks for info. It seems like you were the first owner to do it yourself and post. I'm sure your comments have helped relieve the concerns of others. I'm ready to tackle mine as soon as the parts arrive.
I checked out Carter and Carter Machinery for the top and tilt cylinders as DK35Vince suggested. Saw a few more sites but the cost was higher. Also, CCM's cylinders have a check valve that keeps the pressure, generated from the implement, from being pushed back into the tractor system. Overall, seems like a better setup at a reasonable price.

Victor,
If you do get top and tilt cylinders, I highly recommend you get the ones with the check valves. (prevents the cylinders from drifting off).

Vince,
I had read about the check valves preventing drifting on another site. I'm glad you mentioned it. A reminder for me and more info for someone else. The check valve cylinders have to be the best way to go to protect the tractor and stop drifting. Thanks.

For someone considering doing this install---what is "the cover"?? What does it do/cover?
Maybe KiotiJohn could rewrite a manual in "Plain English" that we would all flock to buy---I know I would... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mark,
If you have the "twist" valve installed, they had to remove a cover to install it.
When you remove the valve to install the rear remote, you need that cover. Rick has a cover on the way for mine.
Installing the remote isn't that hard, but you may need a 8mm hex wrench to get the bolts out of the twist valve (had to visit the hardware store).

Here is something that you guys might want to consider before you install your remotes. Check out VT Kioti's post where he lengthened his valve levers. I really wish I had done it on my first set, and I will be sure to do it when I install my second.
