3-Point Hitch injured neck requires special care - seeking info

i couldn't think of a title that described my problem, that didn't sound crazy... my problem is that i've herniated a disk in my neck. (super excruciating!) but i am expected to make a decent recovery according to my physical therapist... provided i take it easy for a while.

trouble is, things gotta get done... you know how it is.... so in looking ahead, i think i can handle most of the tractor work, but i've been warned there is to be NO PUSHING, TUGGING, LIFTING, ETC... i haven't ever been able to change out my 3 pt hitch implements with out a fair amount of that stuff...

looking at the john deere ads on tv, i see them with some easy on/off hardware... is there anywhere i can get something to make changing my stuff on my 3510 mahindra any easier? i realize i won't be able to find the things like deere is showing, but surely to goodness there's something?

i can get help, but i'd just rather do it myself...

help?

Are you referring to "Quick Hitches"? If you are, there are several threads here on TBN that are associated with them. Just go to the SEARCH section here on TBN, and type in Quick Hitches. There are different prices ranges in regards to Quick Hitches. Best wishes and sincerely hope that your condition improves.

You could check out Carter & Sons Tool and die.They make a quick hitch that attaches to your lift arms all you have to hook up is the top link.

Northern Tools also offer a quick hitch set up for your tractor. I was looking at it and may still buy it.

When I purchased my tractor, I knew wrestling with attachments was going to be bad for my back. So, when I saw Pat's Easy Hitch, Pats Easy Change 3 Point Hitch System I just knew it was a must have. I have never regretted this purchase. I know there are other systems on the market; some are less expensive. Pat's was worth every dime: sturdy, easy to install, made in USA.

Others have answered your main question, I just wanted to add, don't mess around listen to your docs etc... I have had 8 surgical procedures done on my spine, including a neck disc replacement. Let it heal now or you'll be in a much worse boat down the road.

After you do your research, try to keep the following in mind--hooking up the PTO can still be a PITA! Nothing is more frustrating than having everything hooked up and ready to go and then having to futz around with that connection. I would also suggest that you look carefully at all of your potential 3 point implements and ensure that none of he would need to be modified--if you choose a quick hitch with a non-adjustable "top hook" (you will see what I mean as you do your research).

I agree with B8fish hooking up the pto can be a pain if your not a contortionist. Keep your pto shaft clean and lightly greased and it will go on a lot easier. DO LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR !!!!! Jim
