So a very good friend of mine got a divorce and him and his wife didn't want the tractor so I ended up with it for free.
It's got a Bradford backhoe and a set of forks for the front loader. I asked about this when it was still his but now I'm trying to get everything working.
Tractor has 300hrs on it but it set outside for the last couple years. It starts right up and runs great but I keep blowing hoses on the front loader and the backhoe keeps kicking the lever off and stops working.
You think a fluid and filter change will help, I don't know what if any maintenance was ever done. I've replaced all of the hoses for the loader but the backhoe keeps tripping the lever and stops working. I'm wondering if the filters are old enough to have come apart and stopping the hydraulic flow. Any idea what I need to look for.
I'm thinking about taking the backhoe off and seeing if it stops popping hoses for now.

You lucky dog!!!!!! You scored big time!!!!!

I don't understand why you are having the problems you are. There's definitely something going on with the hydraulics. Wish I had an answer.

Hopefully someone will chime in with help.

If not, start another thread with the problem in the title so you'll draw that kind of attention.

 dang that's heck of free be.
Did you get manuals might shed some light on problems?

Blowing hoses is either weak hoses or an improperly functioning relief valve. Its sounds like multiple hoses, so I'd wager it's the valve. If it's the relief valve, blowing hoses is the cheapest result, blowing the pump up gets expensive fast. Get a manual & pressure gauge to validate its functioning properly & likely fix that ASAP.

If the fluids & filters are unknown I'd replace them. Bad/contaminated fluid or plugged filters wont blow hoses though. Plugged filters will cause cavitation which effectively sandblasting precision parts. It will eat things up pretty quick. Not as quick as a relief valve set to high or stuck though.

You say "the lever" talking about the backhoe. What lever? There are tons of levers on the tractor & hoe.

I'll be out at the property tomorrow and I'll get some pictures of the lever to engage the backhoe.

Sounds as if BH is powered by scv not power beyond. If scv control lever is kicking out of detent then secure lever in detent with a bungee cord. I suggest to change filters & check hyd pressure.

This makes sense. I'll give it a try

Is the backhoe running off it's own hydraulic system powered by the PTO?

Not sure but the tall lever is right next to the PTO. I'll get some pictures and maybe you guys can help me out

If its blowing hoses on the loader. Sounds like the hoses may be plugged in wrong? Mine had three hoses feeding my controls. One is power beyond. One is return and the other feeds the loader I think. I know if you plug mine in wrong something has to give.
