I just traded for a Ford 7.3 diesel. While reading posts at a club like this for them I came upon a condition called " wet stacking" It is caused by letting a diesel idle for more than 10 minutes. The way they talked it does quite a bit of damage to a diesel. Does anyone want to explain how tihis will effect our diesels? It has me all confused. I was told to let a diesel run. They say "running "means at an engine speed of over 1200rpm , not at an idle.

1200 RPM is just about idle for a 2 cyl Yanmar............isn't it? /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Ford makes a nice electronic high idle for your powerstroke. They can be programed for RPM or to maintain voltage etc. We used them at my last job building ambulances. Ask your dealer about them

I have seen the auto idle box and have read quite abit about the Power Stroke and fast idle. I was just wondering how it effects our little diesels.
