I just read the post about the DK45 going over, along with some of the responses. Thankfully, the driver was not injured. I was wondering how many folks actually use their seatbelts EVERY TIME they fire up their tractor? I don't, but I figure (like many, I'm sure) that if the terrain gets hilly, I'll put it on. So folks, do you or don't you......? Thanks!

Depends on what I'm doing, but most of the time I do.

Same here. I think it gives me a better feeling of security and makes me more comfortable when operating in the rough stuff.

No, I don't usually. I do when I get into the hilly stuff.

I didn't know I had one for the first 20 hours of owning my tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You mean there is a seatbelt on my 2004 Kioti?

Never used it, but then I don't use them in cars or trucks either.

I use it pretty religiously if I am going to be on the machine for a long time like hours or in nasty terrain. If I am poking around doing little things and getting on and off often I don't bother. Long mow jobs are especially likely to see a seat belt because I get in the sombie zone and maybe don't pay the most attention to the little potholes and rocks that are hiding in the grass, then that dang cutter can get you.

When I don't use it, the buckle goes back in the little holder so that it doesn't scratch things up.

Before I got my farm I raced sports cars for many years and after seeing people go end over end at over 100 mph and ending up with only a dislocated shoulder because they had on the seat belt , I use one on everything that has one. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I think there are as many reasons to use one on a tractor as there are not to use one. Mine currently doesnt have one, really dont think I will go through the trouble of adding one either, though I'm sure it would be a good idea in some cases.

When I lived in Miami, I never wore a belt on the street either. As I got older and started driving 130mi per day in Atlanta, I figured it would be best and wear it all the time now. Plus work requiring it got me used to the feel.

I use mine 99% of the time. The only time I don't is when manuvering to install the BH or rotary mower etc.

One additional consideration that "forces" me to use it consistently is that the longer seat belt end can slip down and get caught between the tractor frame and the rear wheel if it is loose.

I never have used my seatbelt on my tractor.
