I just bought a new 2015 mahindra with King Kutter brush hog and 4ft box blade. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience and or reviews of this brand.
Thanks in advance
Tim

You'll get a lot of opions on KK attachments. KKs are on the longer end of the price/quality scale. I think most people will agree for the the $ they are OK attachments. There are better attachments out there, but there are also worse out there. Some of the complaints about KK are some pieces may be a little lighter than some others, paint isn't great and sometimes looks rusty, and sometimes the welds aren't the best. That being said, I have 3 KK attachments (rotary cutter, box blade, and sub-soiler) all have worked fine. I abuse the cutter pretty good and have to have any problems with it. Tractor Supply Company usually sells these attachments and can usually get parts for them - they also stock a lot of the parts.

Tim, they have a website with lots of info on their products and manuals you can download. That's value-added support in my estimation.

I have a 7' KK HD rotary cutter. I bought it painted green through my Montana dealer. I am REALLY hard on it and so far have had only two problems:

1. I broke all the bolts off of one of the rear wheels. It has two wheels and the other one has been fine.

2. I have broken two 3PT pins. This was because I didn't check them and they got loose. My fault.

I have the same model as you. I had the same problem with the wheel too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Lost two bolts and didn't notice it in time and it broke the hub/flange. It was cast. Got my dealer to order another and it wasn't cast and has held up well. But the other cast wheel has too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought the KK because it was a HD model and cheap when I priced against some bigger name brands. I knew before hand the first two years I used it might very well be the end of it. So I didn't want a lot of money in something I might destroy. Well it fooled the heck out of me. I have cut 8 acres of stumps that had started rotting some and some were still pretty solid in the center. Many of these stumps were 25in across. Plus I cut about 110 acres of pasture per year too. I've had it 6 years now and it's still going strong.

Problems I've had other than that wheel:
Had to tighten the nut on the stump jumper once. Must have been those stumps. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Had to tighten all the gear box bolts down. That was after two days of stump grinding. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Had a white oak stump blow the top up right in the front. No problem. Just took a big hammer and flattened it out and welded it solid all the way across. If it had been welded like that to begin with the top wouldn't have blow up. And if it had been welded solid it would have cost me more. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Year before last I removed all the paint, knocked all the dents out, primed and painted it. I use Amsoil gear oil in the box and change it every two years. I got more stumps for next year. If it makes it through this bunch of stumps I'll say it's a good cutter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Something else I have run into with my cast hubs is that the grease zerks tend to come out easily when I try to grease it. I assumed it was probably due to poorly tapped threads in the hub and the zerk not tightening down correctly.

The next time one of the zerks comes out, look at the "threads" very carefully. You may have press in zerks, and what looks at first glance like threads are actually concentric rings, and won't have any pitch to them. These are meant to be press fit into the hole rather than screwed in. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have the KK 5' back blade and 5' rake for my 2615. Painted them to match the tractor of course. I have used them extensively this past summer landscaping at three properties without any problems. I will be looking to buy a 5 or 6' rotary cutter for use next spring. Can't say if it will be a KK. All depends on the pricing.
