About 6 years ago I totally rewired my 135 and changed from the original external regulated alternator to a 10si Delco with internal regulator. Since all I needed was enough amps to run the ignition system I bought the least expensive O'Reilly reman and then reclocked the case halves to fit and then wired in a diode and resistor so it would start charging at low rpm. After sitting in the weather since then and sucking in tons of dust I noticed that it was pegging the ammeter when I last used it. It needed bearings in addition to a regulator and brushes so I started trying to remember what car I had looked up to get the lowest priced one. I finally remembered it was a '74 Chevy 6-cyl Camaro. It was just over $30 including tax. The parts to repair the old one would have been more than that. There are still a few deals out there.
