Hello,
I've got a B3200 and bought a woodsplitter with a weight of 820 kg.
My 3pt hitch has a lift capacity of only 750kg whereas e.g. the B3030 (a lighter model) has even a lift capacity of 970kg.
Does anybody know if I can increase the lift capacity?
I read something about shimming the relief valve? If so, does anybody know where I can find the relief valve on my B3200?
Thanks in advance!
Regards, Harald

The B3030 was a deluxe tractor with position control, versus quarter-incher on the more basic B3200. I wouldn't assume that because the 3030 has higher capacity, that the 3200 could too.

You sure it's kg and not lbs ?

An 1800 lb (820 kg) for a 3PH woodsplitter is awfully heavy ... ;)

It's indeed 820kg. It's a big one of a German brand BGU (20ton).
I hope that someone can tell me if the lift capacity of the 3PTH can be increased for the B3200 or that I have to look for another Tractor.

Only way to increase cyl force is more pressure.

You could check the tractor relief pressure for specs, and maybe bump it up some at your risk.

Shorten the lift arms, kinda doubtful though

Are your lift links attached in holes outlined in red? You could move lift link attaching pins back to holes where sway chains are attached to increase lift capacity.

The alternative lift holes are a feature on some models (M7040 for certain) although I am not familiar with yours. An inch can make a big difference in lifting capacity although you do loose lift height.
Some kubota's have the 3pt lift cylinders on the outside of the tractor and with the help of a good Kubota parts guy you may be able to find slightly larger diameter cylinders.
Why not add a caster wheel to your splitter and have it hydraulically extended to assist your 3 pt.
Another alternative would be to put your splitter on a diet. Reduce some of the steel sections using a torch. For example cutting circles in the main beam can reduce the weight without affecting the strength a lot. A 20 ton splitter is nothing super.
Convert the splitter to a trailer style by adding some wheels and an axle.
It seems a shame to be forced to change tractors or alter yours just for a 20 ton splitter.
Please post a picture of the splitter for us.

I don't believe the B3200 has external 3pt cyl.

It seems to me that the two ways to increase lift is to select the lift hole furthest from the tractor and increase pressure. .

If the arms are already set in the outermost holes, then you will have to increase pressure.

A higher psi pump or increase the relief setting.

Do you constantly need more lift force or just with one attachment?

A change of 100 psi will equal a change of 1257 lbs or force, and then you have the mechanical advantage or disadvantage, depending on the mounting hole selection.

If you select the hole closest to the tractor, you have more lift height, but less force.

There is a lot of talk on the Orange Tractor Talks site about people checking there hydraulic pressure and finding it low. After adjusting up a little they find a big difference in performance

Lubbegie ,

If you go Kubota Parts | Full Service online retailer, and enter your tractor data, they will send you a PDF.

Your relief valve info is on page 32.

You can add shims to increase the pressure.

Ask the parts guys at Messicks for the thickness you need.

Do you have a B-3200 or a B-3209?
