Bobcat CT335 + John Deere 1023e (former owner of Kubota BX2370-1, John Deere 5210, and Ford 2000)
A while back I sold my JD 5210 because I was barely using it. My thoughts were to invest in a good zero turn for mowing. After shopping around and driving several of them I had some doubts about how I'd like them, and a good one is quite an investment for a single purpose machine. So I took off work early and stopped by a Kioti dealer and looked at a new CS2410. I liked the size and feel of it alot, but it really had harsh engine vibration. The steering wheel did quite a mesmerizing dance while I was watching it idle. Then I stopped by the local Kubota dealer and looked at a BX1870 he had on the lot. It was alot smoother but seemed a little small. Then I came home and saw an hour old posting for a BX2370-1 with a 60" mower and front end loader. It has less than 5 hours on it and was priced at 10500. I showed my wife the ad and she says "you better call". It was over 60 miles away, so lots of driving and a few stops later, and look what I brought home tonight. BX photo.jpgphoto (2).jpg

I don't know much about the BXs other than their owners seem to love them and I liked it better than the other stuff I had been looking at. The price must've been right because the guy had 7 more calls to look at it by the time I got there the first time to look at it. So now I need to read the manuals and figure out what I bought and what size attachment this thing takes. A back blade and landscape rake would be on the wish list for the back end. So what size attachment work well on these little tractors?

I'm also thinking about a front snowblower and would like some feedback from BX owners here. Thank you in advance.

great buy. that was a steal!
Sure hope it wasn't stolen. That is a good price for that machine, about what you would have paid for a good zero turn mower although a ZT mower would mow faster than this machine, but as you said, that is all it would do.

Congratulation on your find.

Wow, nice find!

I have a five foot rake, and it works well and seems about right to me. On the blade, are you thinking a scraper blade type, or a box blade? What will you be doing with it? I have both, finally getting a box blade much later. The box blade is so much more of a useful tool, at least for me.

My box blade is a four foot, and I wouldn't get anything larger, at least in my experience.

that is a good deal. looks like its never been used either.
As for sizes, in my opinion you can get anything that is 48" width for rear 3 point with cat 1 pins. If you find something with cat 0 pins , take a good hard look at it, chances are is that its may not be robust enough and the price has to be right to get a cat 0 and convert the pins to cat 1. for example - I bought a backblade that came with cat 0 pins and price was right. I dont intend to do anything heavy duty with it and use it mainly in couple inches slushy snow before the ground freezes up. I was able to swap the pins to cat 1 but had to drill larger holes. I have a 40 inch tiller and it works fine since this is what my dealer brought out to me as that what the manual suggests - but I feel strongly the BX can handle a 48" just fine and many tbn'ers have 48" on theirs with no problems. i think 40 is a bit undersized for width.
As for the front size width - I would say anything 48" but up to 5 foot is good like front blower, brushes, plow, FEL bucket, etc.

Congratulations, that was a good buy. We have two BXs and love them. We use a 48" box scraper, we have a 5' back blade but rarely use it, we use a LP 50" reverse tiller which works great. We've also added Bro Tek belly plates and 2" wheel spacers, stabilizer bar from StabilWorks and have weighted rear tires.

Thank guys.

One of my calls was to the state police after I had a pic of the serial number plate. But, interestingly enough they said they couldn't run a check unless they were physically there looking at the machine. I called my insurance agent too just to see if he could help check in any way, but no dice. So I settled for a signed receipt with the sellers' name and address on it. The wife was third generation living in the old farm house so I don't think they're moving anytime soon.

Here is a pic now that it is in the barnphoto.jpg

I'm thinking scraper blade primarily for snow removal. I think it would compliment a front blower nicely to make an excellent snow removal tool.

Are you guys using standard cat 1 implements? or are they too tall to tall for these little guys? a pic or two of of a mounted blade or rake might help.

I use a front blower / 5' back blade combo for snow removal and it works well. My back blade is a Woods " estate series" which is designed for this sized tractor. I don't have much in the way of pictures of the back blade but here is the tractor handling a foot and a half of snow.
