I would like to hook up a trailer light connection on my GC-1705 for when I pull a trailer. Has anyone done that?

Should not be to hard, the tractor lights are right there at rear, just extend them (splice into) to a trailer plug... Only three wires you need to contend with, left turn, right turn and tail... Maybe add forth for a ground...

Pretty similar to sketch below only you wont have "stop" lights any maybe not side markers (your choice)....

Would go to FLAPS and just get a trailer light "kit"...

Yes, I have the trailer lights already set up I was just wondering where the best place is to make the connection on the tractor

Standing behind the machine, looking at the 3pt arms and PTO, is there a connector to the right ?

My LS has one that mates to a 7 pin round trailer connector. Not sure if the MFs have them or not.

No, as far as I can tell the GS1705 does not come with a connector. They show one for the 1523

I guess if I was going to add a 4 flat trailer plug on my 1705 I would splice into the back lights under the back fender where the wire comes down through the ROPs and underneath, if I remember right when I put my rear lights inside my ROPs there was enough wire that splicing into the left and right would be easy then just route the flat to where you want it OR get a Velcro strap and bunch up the wire and plug and use the Velcro strap to attach it to the upper link and when you need to use the trailer just undo the strap and plug the trailer in, that way the trailer plug-in on scut will be out of the way until needed, I would have about 3-4 feet of wire just so it would be long enough to reach other plugs on different trailers unless you are going to have a dedicated trailer for your scut.

This is just a example but all I would need now is a 3 foot extension and a Velcro strap a half hour and a cup of coffee and my 1705 would be set up to have trailer lights. I would strip, wrap, solder and tape my connection instead of using locs.

Of course I would want the other plug being the one in the pic is for the trailer but I just grab it out of my junk wire box.

Cleanest would be to mount one of these on rear apron.... Somewhere behind seat.... Just have long enough umbilical on trailer to reach...

Not a big fan of Scotchlocs either, but they do work.... Yes I'm old school strip, solder, tape...

I also thought of that one for a dedicated trailer. You can also get the mounting bracket for the flat connector.
That’s what is nice about trailer connections nowadays, they have a lot of options compared to what it used to be like.
