I have a 30' x 40' barn with a gravel floor and limited space for storing implements and such. I am considering fabricating some carts for the implements so I can move them in and out of the barn, and around in the barn, to and from where I can connect them to the tractor (Kioti CK30HST).

The implements in question are a brush-hog, a box-blade, a rear-blade, a 5' disc harrow, and a cultivater.

Any thoughts or recommendations you may have on making these carts would be greatly appreciated. The only thing I know for certain is that the supports need to be fairly stout, and the wheels will need to be big enough so they can easily roll and move over gravel.

Does anyone sell such a cart other than Northern Tool (which is a front snowblade cart with very small wheels)?

Thanks for any ideas or information you may be able to pass my way.

use pneumatic tires for ease of rolling on gravel.

I found moving anything around on gravel a pain. So I poured concrete in the barn I keep the tractors and smaller implements in and made carts for those and built a open shed barn to line up the bigger implements in.

I'm not sure about carts, or how much they cost. But the first thing that come to my mind is instead of a separate cart, buy guage wheels for the backs and a trailor jack with wheel for the front. You can find trailor jacks to support up to 2000#, and some that will attach w/o welding, and one that will flip up out of the way.

This will do a number of things for you... 1) You will have guage wheels! 2) The jack will allow you to move the implements around (I'm sure you can find one with a large wheel). 3) You can use the jack to help you attach to your hitch w/o having to run around to the 3PT controls. and 4) You don't have to mess with a separate cart.

Unless your gravel is compacted to a hard surface, I think any wheeled cart is going to be frustrating. Plus, good sized wheels and steel aren't cheap.

Have you considered getting a boom pole for your tractor to move your implements?

I've been setting many of mine on wooden skids and the just moving them with the FEL forks. When I want to install them I bring them down to the garage where I have a better work surface....and lighting....and tools....and heat
