I'm lookin To buy a new Kubota Z724XKW-54 zero turn mower. I'm looking for any pros and cons for this mower.
I have owned 2 Toro MX Titan 5400 and hated the cut it wood always leave strands of tall grass just to the right of the left front tire
both did the same thing. I now have a Ferris 2100z 52" with the vanguard it cuts great and rides Great but is very loud (the wife hates the Loudness of it
even with hearing Protection) We stopped at the local Kubota dealer and tried out the Kubota and it is Quite even quitter than the Toro was!
We are looking at getting the suspension seat and operator chute blocker, Is it worth getting the Kubota suspension seat $400 or just buying one on Ebay
Thanks In advance

Why not get a 60 inch mower? It looks like they make a mulch kit and I would get that because it will keep all those clippings from blowing all over you. Unless you have a very small yard, the 60 inch will make a big difference. I have a friend that bought another model with a liquid cooled diesel. If you can afford it, I think you should look at it. He paid about $12k for his with a 60 inch deck and is always raving about it. His cut time for his yard went from 5 hours to 2 hours. Apparently he got 84 month 0% financing on it.

Bought one a couple of years ago--Same thing 724 w/54" deck, front jack and LED's...Love it

Pros--Comfortable, fast, cuts fantastic even at high speed. Not too awful on gas. Has better traction and stability than I thought it would. Doesn't seem to use any fluids in the 50 hrs I've run it.

I don't really see a need for a suspension seat unless you're going to be spending a lot of continuous hours on it. I think it's really comfortable compared to the few others I looked at.

Cons--It's freaking LOUD-I'm used to diesels so that's relative and you already checked that...Sticks are 'jumpy' till you get used to them.

That said, glad I bought it--no regrets.

fastback, the loudness of the Ferris is interesting to me. I have a Ferris with Kawasaki engine, 37 hp and it is loud. Makes me wonder if something about the exhaust Ferris has on their engines. I ordered higher rated ear muffs than I found in a store in my area. Made a big difference. But then learned you can use foam ear plugs with ear muffs.
My mower had issue with the belt from the engine to the deck. Must have had a bad joint in it for it did not last long and the replacement was quiter. The belt had a voom voom noise to it.

I have 2 yards that I can only get a 54" in and we cut 2 cemetery's that a 54" will just fit
between some of the head stones

Thanks Kthompson that is exactly what mine is doing and when you wear ear muffs it actually amplifies it and drives me crazy!
I'm going to change the belt

Did the belt change happen? If so is the noise still there?
