I\'m having trouble finding the right Tractor

I've looked at a lot of different tractors. I'm opening a five acre groundcover nursery in Oregon, I really need a tractor to mix the media. However I'm sure there are a lot of other tasks that will come up; mowing, tilling, ect... What's the general feeling on how much horsepower is needed, how many hours are too many, is the "L" or "B" series the best? I know it's a lot of questions but the clock is running out and I need some help badly.

Hard to say which based on your description of needs. But as it appears primary use is loader work, would look at the B21 as the low end choice. Not much experience on the bigger machines, though.

It appears that you would get the most "bang for your buck" with a B7500. It's a 21HP compact that will handle 99.9% of everything you mentioned in your post and more. Also... if you'll check around the forum you'll see more references to the B7500 doing comparable chores to yours. I had a B7100 a few years ago and it took care of my 5-acres with no problems, which included tiller use, fertilizer spreading, mowing, brush-hogging, dirt moving, grader work, etc., and it was only a 16HP tractor. You should be able to find a new B7500 with FEL for around $11,000 or $12,000 with HST.
