Buying Advice I'm Buying a Ferris IS2100z Mower and Down to Two Models and looking for opinions

I'm about to buy a 18 model year Ferris due to the $750 rebate and I'm trying to decide between two mowers, one is a 52" Vanguard carb model and the other is the Vanguard EFI, Oil Guard, Suspension seat 61" deck. I'm mowing about 3 acres somewhat rolling turf on a 5 acre property that I've been using a 62" X585 Deere on. The price difference is about $1100 and not an issue.

If price weren't an issue for me I'd do the 61" , suspension seat model. You won't wonder what if later...! Your butt will thank you too.

I have the '18 Vanguard EFI 61" deck version, love it so far. Was going to go Kawasaki but got a good deal on the Vanguard and don't regret it. No issues at all though it's still low hours.

That is about as good as you can get. Will probably last a lifetime.

I think you'll be really happy with it..! Looks nice. Suspension seat AND spring suspension. I'm envious now.. :thumbsup:

Replaced a 52" ZTM with a 2017 Ferris IS2100 with the Vanguard carb 61". Cut about same number of acres as you. What a difference just the spring suspension made. Just under 100 hrs and love the Ferris. You will really like the gas consumption of the Vanguard EFI vs the carb.

Back in '07 I bought an '03 Ferris 1000Z and rode that thing out here on the farm till '17. Yep, rode that 17 yr old machine for 10 yrs and it still ran great when I sold it to it's current owner. Ferris build great machines but they are commercial units that require regular maintenance.

She was a good ole gal until I bought brand new last year. I changed the fleet over to all diesel and bought an IS2600Z Yanmar.
It's like mowing in your easy chair compared to the non-IS model and quiet like you can't imagine.
No more screaming gas engine trying keep torque to a point for maximum drive and cut effiency.

Keep your Ferris greased, oiled and generally maintained and she'll last you as long as you want.
I think I finger printed almost every nut and bolt on that '03 over the years. I even found a cheap and
effective replacement PTO clutch for that $400 OEM version.

I just couldn't take the pounding out here on the bahia grass plains any longer.
