IH 684 Clutch Slipping

My Dad has a 684 that was orginally bought by the State of Mississippi. It's painted orange and has a heavy ROPS with canopy including limb risers. The clutch has started to slip the last few weeks. I've heard that this model tractor comes with two different clutches. How do I identify which one his has? Can you tell by the serial number? Thanks.

The serial number for his tractor ends with a -X. Does anyone know what this means?

the only way to tell which clutch is with it out. you know that it can be adjusted quiet a lot, with out taking it out, before it is wore out.

You have to adjust the clutch once in a while, have to replace it sooner or later.
