I'm trying to remove the injectors from a 574D. Do I need to remove the head or should they slide out after I remove the flange bolts?

I tried to look up the parts diagram on Case's new online parts system and it's a pain to use. I prefer the older system.

Anyway, I was unable to peruse the parts diagrams, however, generally the injectors should be removable without removing the head.

If this one is an anomoly....i don't know

I'm quoting the paragraph on injection nozzles:
"To remove any injection nozzle, first remove dirt from nozzle, injection line, return line and cylinder head. Disconnect leakage return line and high pressure injection line from nozzle and immediately cap or plug all openings. Remove the injector studs nuts on flange mounted injectors or retaining bolt on clamp mounted injectors and carefully withdraw the injector assembly from the cylinder head.
When reinstalling, tighten flange mounted injector stud nuts evenly and to a torque of 8 ft.-lbs. Tighten clamp mounted injector retaining bolt to a torque of 18 ft.-lbs.

Note: It is recommended that cooling system be drained before removing injectors. It is possible that injector tube may come out with injector and allow coolant to enter engine." (This part is in BOLD print.)

This is from my old I&T shop service manual #IH203.

Hope this helps.
