IH 5288 pto speeds

I am looking into upgrading my ih 1586 to a 52 or 5488 but I see that the 88s have only 1000rpm pto. Is there an easy conversion that can be made or something? Most of my stuff is 1000 rpm but gotta have 540 for a thing or two. 5088s have dual pto but I think i would like a bigger size tractor

there is a way to put a dual pto into a bigger tractor .i think everything will fit but the coupler.you have to take a big tractor coupler and dual pto coupler and cut them into.then weld the 2 pieces together.

say are the hydraulic hookups the same on the 88s and 86s or will i need to switch tips on my implements?

probably my local IH dealer could install a dual pto i guess. I would probably botch it up if it requires cutting and welding

pretty sure you could find a dual pto from a 5088 at a salvage yard and swap it with the one in your 5488

I've seen 5488s with dual pto so its been done somehow before.
