My IH 240 keeps dying when work is done. It drives in all gears fine. I am trying to dig a trench that is 4 inches wide and i am using a potato plow minus the blade and when i try to sink in in and pull it dies and has trouble restarting. I am only sinking the plow 6 inches at a time so I dont know what is going on. Any ideas?

I would have to guess you have a fuel restriction somewhere. Either the screen above the sediment bowl, or the fine mesh screen attached to the elbow, where the fuel line attaches to the carb.

Being it's hard to start after it dies, I'd have to guess it's using more fuel under load than can flow into the carb. Both an easy fix. The elbow can be cleaned by removing, then flush it from the outside with a can of carb. cleaner.

If this doesn't cure the problem, post back.
