Ignition issue (I think) - planing a full tune-up, what else might i be missing?

My S650G died on me Sunday. It was running pretty good for a couple hard days of work, then developed a bad "sputter" (I assumed it was running out of gas). I shut it off with the key, added gas, and it will not re-fire. Its getting plenty of fuel to the filter (clear filter) just before the carb, but when I tested a spark plug against the block and cranked it over, NO SPARK.

I'm going to do a quick coil test this evening and see if the key-on position is getting power to the coil, but i am wondering if there is anything else I might be missing.

I ordered all the ignition parts from Napa yesterday, and they should be in today. Cap, rotor, condenser, coil, plugs, wires, points.

Are there any fuses or other parts of the electrical i need to check?

as note... make you you use the resistor for the coil (from Napa).
