Igniter question

I have a JD 6x4 which has a Kawasaki FD620D engine. The igniter is JD part number AM118738. The number on the igniter is 21119-2156. I see there are many other Denso igniters different dash numbers. Anyone know what these numbers mean or if there is a chart that shows the differences?

I do not know, but have that Kawasaki FD620D engine in my JD 425.
Ignitor failed and replacement was different part #AM105574 and 21119-2157.

Bought one off Amazon that worked, for $69.
At the time, other equipment dealers were 300-400 dollars

That appears to be what the previous owner bought and the timing seems off. I’m not sure how that could be. Maybe he just got a bad igniter but it also makes me wonder what is different about all the different Denso part numbers.

So your pic of the igniter is one you don't think is the correct one?

What is the complete model number for the Kawasaki FD620D engine? Can you break it out further?

I do believe the igniter shown is the correct one. It is removed from a 1997 6x4 with Kawasaki engine FD620D-DS11.

Machine I’m working in is a 2001 6x4 with Kawasaki FD620D-HS11.

Book shows JD part number AM118738 for both machines. A search of the Denso number 21119-2156 shows many similar igniters with a different dash number. An example is -2148. Maybe a number has been superseded?

Thank you Richard. I installed a known good -2156 and the engine runs perfect. I talked to the previous owner and the igniter that did not work was advertised as a -2157. I wonder what the 2157 fits? It’s advertised as fitting an FD620D. Maybe it was just a defective igniter. Just curious now.
